Students from across Asia will be soon be celebrating the Lunar New Year! IFI wants to provide a space for them to celebrate and meet new friends. This is a fantastic opportunity to serve, connect with, and learn from students.

We're honored to have the opportunity to engage with our international friends' culture.
We’d love for you to help us serve in the following ways:

1. Provide Food

Please considering purchasing and bringing items such as:

• Vegetarian Dishes (fried rice, spring rolls, and Bok choy preferred)
• Meat Dishes (pork ribs, braised pork belly, and beef chow fun)
• Korean noodles (japchae) and Korean fried chicken
• Fruit/Dessert
• Chinese snacks
• Dasani Water Bottles (OSU is a "Coca Cola products" only campus)
• Individually Packaged Refreshments ( ex. Coke/Sprite/Fanta/Honest Tea/Gold Peak Tea, Dasani Water Bottles)

2. Serve During the Event:

Please consider serving in the following areas: 

• Food Service*
  • This includes preparing food, serving food, and cleaning the kitchen.
• Set up & Decoration*
• Clean up & Tear Down*
• Check in & Registration
• Photography

*These areas require a team leader to coordinate other volunteers in completing this task. If you would like to lead one of these teams, let us know below!

Note: We encourage you to make students feel more at home by wearing either traditional Lunar New Year cultural dress or red/yellow clothing.

3. Lead Table Discussion

We offer a time for students to discuss their takeaways and perspectives on the information that is shared by:

• Asking students about their perspectives (questions will be provided)
• Giving each student at your table an appropriate amount of time share
• Encouraging students complete the Feedback survey (especially if they don't get the chance to share)
