Thank you for your continual faithfulness in serving international students and your care and concern for them even during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation.
Here are some of the precautions IFI has taken to protect students and volunteers from the COVID19 virus.
- We ask volunteers who are over 60 and have an ongoing illness not to participate in face to face activities.
- We ask volunteers and students who participate to take precautions and be aware of the safety risks on the Centers for Disease Control web page: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html
- We ask that volunteers and students who have symptoms or have been diagnosed with COVID-19 or exposed to someone diagnosed with COVID-19 in the last 14 days not participate.
We realize that it would not be wise for some of you to participate in face-to-face activities with students given these guidelines above and for other personal reasons. However, we do want to encourage those who are able but are struggling with fear to consider serving in this way.
Throughout history, Christians have often been involved in serving the general public during plagues, wars, and famines, sometimes at the cost of their own lives. As we model the behavior we see in Christ, who left the safety of heaven to come to earth to seek, save and serve those who were lost, he paid the ultimate price of his life.
