8/20/2021 - Info for English Conversation Club Volunteers
Hi Friends!
It’s so exciting… Fall semester will soon be starting and we get to meet in person again for the IFI English Conversation Club (ECC)! We are starting NEXT SATURDAY! That’s August 28th at Dwell (AKA Xenos). Thanks so much for praying for the location!
A quick reminder that we will meet TOMORROW, Saturday, August 21 for an ECC “refresher” training and to pray together. We will meet at the IFI office: 1520 Old Henderson Rd, Ste 200 at 10 am for about 1.5 hours (probably less).
We could use a few MORE volunteers. We need about 12-15 teacher assistants (TAs) week to help with our meetings. There is no classroom preparation required. Simply show up about 15 minutes early for preparation and prayer, to be friendly and welcome the students, and to assist in facilitating conversation with the international students. We also need help in providing rides to students from the University Village Leasing Office, the Ohio Union, and other nearby locations. This ministry also provides opportunities for you to invite students to your home or various events (both optional), with the hope of building a trusting relationship through which to share Christ.
Here are the ECC details:
- When: Saturdays, starting
- Aug 21 at 10 AM – Volunteers Meeting & Prayer (at the IFI office)
- Aug 28 through Oct 2 (six weeks) - Time: 10:00 am to 12 noon
- Where: Dwell Community Center (AKA Xenos) at 1934 N. 4th St.
- Other: Provide Rides for students from University Village and the Ohio Union
