Standard Protocol
If your student is arriving by bus, much will be the same as with an airport pickup, but expect some things to be different. Arrival times to bus stations and bus stops are highly approximate due to the unpredictable nature of roadway traffic, construction and weather conditions. In addition, bus lines don't provide online tracking information, so it would be wise to call ahead to see if the bus is going to be on time.
- Verify all of the details of your student's arrival before he/she departs. Be sure to find out the address of the bus's stop if it will not be arriving at the station downtown. Find out if your student has a U.S. cell phone number so that you can remain in contact in case the bus is delayed or you have trouble finding the student once the bus arrives.
- Print out the IFI Welcome sign as well as the IFI Activities & Welcome Brochure and take them with you to meet the student.
- If you aren't housing the student, find out and map the address where the student will need to go once you have greeted and welcomed the student.

Megabus Info
Megabus is an alternative to Greyhound. They have two stops in Columbus, but they do not have an office or station in Columbus. If your student is arriving via Megabus, be sure to meet them at the correct stop.
