At the start of the semester, Indian students celebrate one of their most important holidays–Indian Independence Day!

We’re honored to have the opportunity to connect with and serve our Indian friends.
We’d love for you to help us serve in the following ways:

1. Be the Hands and Feet of Jesus

Volunteers may do multiple shifts during the event. More details on these opportunities are available here.

  • Load IFI Van:  2:30pm – 3:30pm
  • Set up & Decorate: 3:30pm – 5:30pm
    • Set up game/activity tables, sitting areas, food service areas, and registration
    • Help place scavenger hunt pictures and items
  • Pray for the Event: 5:30pm – 6:00pm
    • Meet with IFI Staff and volunteers to pray for the celebration.
  • Registration (Leader: Leila): 5:30pm – 7:30pm
    • 6 volunteers to help register students at the event
  • Food services: 5:00pm – 7:30pm
    • At 5:00pm, food arrives and volunteers start putting in to-go boxes
    • We will serve students food at 7:30pm – need 6 Volunteers
  • Pick up food: 5:00pm
    • Need 2 Volunteers
  • Drop off Food: 5:30pm
    • Make or purchase homemade North Indian or South Indian entrees to bring
  • Host Games & Activities: 5:30pm – 7:00pm
    • We need 12 volunteers to help host games, including:
  • AV and/or Photography (Leader: Karlos): 5:30 pm – 8:00pm
  • Participate in Fashion Show: 6:30pm – 7:30pm
    • Fashion begins at 7:00pm
  • Clean up & Load IFI Van: 8:30pm – 9:30pm

2. Donate a Gift, Decorations or Food:

You can also donate a monetary gift directly to the Loving Indians Fund here. 

Major Needs include:

  • Donate to Loving Indians Fund to be used for dinner and decorations and activities. 
      • $2000 needed for dinner 
      • You could also make/buy an Indian food item for the event
    • $200 decorations and activities 
  • Buy Drinks (Dasani Water)
